Another Auto/Deer Collision

Posted on March 16th, 2010 in Auto/Animal Collision

Frightening!

This came to me via email. This is the description of what happened:

They were traveling in southern Arkansas , between Mena and Dequincy. Oncoming car clipped a deer and sent it straight up into the air. The deer came down head-first into Clayton’s brand new truck. The deer’s head went thruough the front windshield, cutting the head (plus some) off, and landed in Jill’s lap. The body of the deer flipped up, smashed in the top of the truck, and landed in the bed. Clayton couldn’t see Jill from his side, because the top of the truck was smashed in so horribly.
He got out of the truck, went around, and opened the door on her side…only to start flipping out, because she was literally drenched in blood. However, neither one of them was hurt. Her parents were following in a separate vehicle and didn’t see it happen..but drove up on it right afterward. I can’t imagine what they were thinking!

Spectacular photo from the National Geographic.

I tried to find this on their site but was not successful.

Humourus Story from Pennsylvania

Posted on February 25th, 2010 in Whitetail Deer

Only in Pennsylvania …

People in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania have a warped sense of humor.  It must be something in the coal-infused water.  This is the pull-off at SR 61 and Adamsdale Rd.

A deer was hit there.  The couch was dumped there previously.

  • Day two the deer was on the couch.
  • Day three the end table and lamp showed up.
  • Day four the TV and TV stand showed up.

The Trooper had to call PENN DOT because of all the people stopping to take pictures.

The cardboard caption in front of the deer on the couch reads,

“Sorry Hunters.

Obama ruined healthcare.

We can’t afford to have injured hunters on our conscience, so I’m staying home!

Sorry, the Deer.”

Wow! Ever see a deer taken by a bird?

Posted on February 22nd, 2010 in Whitetail Deer

I wonder how this turned out?  Doesn’t look to good for the deer.

Amazing Buck Fight Video

Posted on February 19th, 2010 in Whitetail Deer

Here’s a cool video of a couple of whitetail bucks fighting. The unique part of the viseo is that they manage to maintain standing on two legs for such an extended length of time.
